Crestmont Subdivision

Acting as both the Owner’s Engineer and stormwater management consultant from the initial planning stages to detailed design and construction of the subdivision, Focus has been involved in all aspects of the Crestmont residential subdivision in southwest Calgary.

The good quality of storm discharge from the subdivision was paramount, given that Crestmont’s storm drainage is tributary to an outfall along the Bow River that is situated upstream of a City of Calgary water treatment plant, the good quality of the storm discharge into the Bow River is important.

The storm pond constructed for the Crestmont subdivision is sized appropriately for flood protection and incorporates measures for water quality treatment of runoff associated with smaller rainfall events. The outflow structure is equipped with a smart system that delays the release of discharge from the facility for 24 hours, at which time an automated mechanism opens a sluice gate to allow the water to be released into the receiving stream.
