Delta V System Integration
DPH Focus’s control system group is capable of a wide range of projects from simple system modifications and expansions to complete automation integration of grass roots projects.
Our Metering and Automation team recently participated in Western Canada’s first grass roots natural gas processing plant utilizing Foundation Fieldbus Technology. The plant originally operated with a PLC for plant control and shutdown with a separate HMI/SCADA system to manage the field production wells. When the plant was expanded and a new train added, a Delta V system was installed for plant and field control, eliminating the existing SCADA/HMI and moving the plant control into the Delta V.
The end result was a reduction in wire, terminations, and panel footprint. The client was interested in the long-term potential of running the facility with intelligent technology, improving plant flexibility and plant up time. Two way digital communication with plants transmitters and valves helped diagnose equipment problems more quickly, reducing downtime and lost revenue.
