The Highlands, Highridge Homes
Focus is providing complete civil engineering and project management services to Highridge Homes for The Highlands, a multi‐phase residential subdivision located in Coldstream, BC.
In 2000, Focus became involved in the third phase of the development to provide engineering and to liaise with approving agencies through the transition from the developer that engineered the initial two phases to the current one.
The development, which is located on Middleton Mountain overlooking Kalamalka Lake, requires hillside design criteria. Focus services have included optimizing the existing subdivision layout, final design for all earthworks and civil site servicing, administration of multiple contracts, field reviews and coordination of testing and preparation of record drawings. As a value-added service, we have provided detailed cost to complete information to financial institutions and security/letter of credit draws to the agency having jurisdiction.
Focus has completed six of the twelve Master Plan phases. The economic downturn has stalled completion of the last four phases of the subdivision. Earthwork is complete on one of the phases and design is well underway for the remaining three phases.
