UE-1, Multiple projects, Syncrude
HCS Focus, a wholly owned subsidiary of Focus, first started working with Syncrude when we were awarded the surveying serviced contract for the UE-1 expansion. In the past decade, HCS Focus has continued to provide surveying services on an on-going basis for a variety of Syncrude projects. HCS Focus is currently working on 9 different projects, that span underground “scanning” or facilities locating for ground disturbance purposes, 3D scanning of as-built facilities, volumetric surveys and construction layout surveys, and surveys for mine operations. As many as 14 crews may be on site on any given day.
HCS Focus has worked in excess of 250,000 man-hours on the Syncrude site, has laid out more than 10,000 piles and has done more than 1000 underground scanning jobs over the past decade. We have a strong safety record, with no LTIs in the past decade. HCS has built a strong relationship with Syncrude and is able to meet all of their on-site industrial surveying needs. HCS Focus is also able to partner with the Geomatics group when any boundary or legal surveying requirements arise and can do this in an effective, seamless manner on behalf of the client.
