Dyke 12 Construction, Suncor
HCS Focus is currently involved in Dyke 12 Construction at the Suncor Mine. We have 2 crews which provide coverage 7 days a week. The dyke construction is for a new tailings pond that will be constructed at the site of the old Millennium Mine. The material being used on this job is expensive and in high demand thus Suncor approached us to track the amount of material that was used from beginning to end. This material has to be trucked from a location off the Suncor site to a stockpile at Suncor where it will be used for the Dyke 12 construction.
In addition to tracking material usage, we are responsible for as-building the material as it is placed and carrying out Quality Assurance (QA) on the trench and drainage pipe as-builts. Reports are then sent to Suncor on a weekly basis with the progress of the trench construction and the amount and description of material placed.
