Sports Stadium
The Stadium was scanned for a client wishing to install telecommunications equipment. There was a requirement for a detailed engineering survey at the potential location for several masts as there were no existing drawings or as-builts and a less detailed requirement to establish lines of site between the individual installations. Scanning was chosen because of the speed of data capture, as the client had a very tight dead line and because the install locations were inaccessible from the ground.
The Faro Focus 3D phase shift scanner was utilized to scan the areas for the engineering requirement, these scans quickly established the constraints of the individual locations and potential construction conflicts with existing apparatus and structures. The longer range Leica ScanStation, time of flight scanner was utilized to scan the seating areas and balconies to establish sight lines and spatial context for the installation locations. The various data sets were combined into a single model.
Scan data was supplied to the client utilizing Leica’s Truview product.
