September 21, 2007
VICTORIA, BRITISH COLUMBIA-Focus and co-sponsor Corix Water Products (Corix)
raised more than $325,000 at their annual "Golf for Kids" Charity Golf Classic.
Focus and Corix in partnership with the "Golf for Kids" team including 85
volunteers, 50 Hole Sponsors, 75 Major Sponsors and 192 players raised $325,000
for three local charities: The "Help Fill a Dream Foundation," an organization
dedicated to helping children with life threatening illnesses fulfill their
lifelong dreams, "KidSport BC", whose mandate is to raise funds, and support
programs that create opportunities for young people to participate in sport and
"Rock Solid", a support service that provides counselling and education for
youth affected by violence and bullying.
"This year's event was phenomenal," explains Dale Douglas, tournament
co-organizer and Focus Regional Vice-President. "Focus and Corix are the
stewards of the tournament but the people and the community have adopted this
tournament as their own which has enabled us to raise an incredible amount of
money for local charities."
The 2007 "Golf for Kids" Charity Golf Classic was held on September 15th at the
prestigious Bear Mountain Golf Resort in Victoria. The $325,000 was raised

through participants bidding on items in an exciting silent and a fun-filled
live auction. Bob Campbell from "Help Fill a Dream Foundation", Patti Hunter
from "KidSport BC" and Brent Dobbie from "Rock Solid" were thrilled to accept
cheques on behalf of their respective organizations. Another highlight included
a hole in one where by the golfer received a new Corvette valued at more than
$80,000.
Over the past 10 years, the "Golf for Kids" Charity Golf Classic has raised
