At Focus, there are many Learning & Development opportunities and many benefits to be had. Throughout the year, we offer a variety of training events from self-directed eLearning, to lunch’n’learns, to interactive classroom-based learning. Each opportunity is designed to empower, motivate and engage our employees.
Our award winning classroom training provides opportunities to discuss topics and skills that have immediate, on the job application to the various roles within Focus, as well as the opportunity to network and build strong working relationships with colleagues from all areas of the business.
Our self directed eLearning provides the convenience and opportunity to learn at a time that is most convenient for you. Engaging modules that incorporate impactful and interactive media are designed to meet the needs of our diverse audience.
Lunch ’n’ learns offer a more casual setting, but the value remains high: topics vary from new technology in the industry to important health and wellness issues.
Meaningful Learning and Development
In support of Focus’ ’People First’ value system, all learning and development programs align with one of three cornerstones: People, Customer or Business. Employees are encouraged to develop their knowledge and capabilities, including technical knowledge, career development potential and management ability, through participation in approved courses of study and other developmental initiatives. To ensure course content is relevant and contains applicable industry specific information, our programs are designed in collaboration with advisor groups made up of Focus subject matter experts.

At Focus, we support and encourage lifelong learning that continuously builds skills and knowledge throughout the career of our team members. Our employees have access to learning opportunities 24/7. Resources include, but are not limited to, our Harvard Manage Mentor elearning modules, Microsoft training, a library of articles, podcasts and discussion boards. Topics include safety, leadership, team building, project management, communication and computer skills, to name a few.
Professional staff is encouraged to maintain their designations through relevant professional and educational activities. Focus is prepared to assist employees with such involvement to preserve and enhance the high level of expertise and professionalism of both our employees and Focus. Our internal programs are association-approved and can be used as professional development hours if our employees so wish.
