HIGHWAY 15
Highway Infrastructure

Scope
Focus was retained by the British Columbia Ministry of Transportation to carry out all work associated with the Highway 15 Improvement Program, an $80 Million program to be completed over five years. Focus is responsible for the coordination and delivery of preliminary design, detailed design, geotechnical design, structural and electrical design, environmental services, property acquisition and overall project management. Focus was also awarded a contract for the delivery of construction management services.

The Highway 15 Improvement Program is a cost-sharing agreement between the Province of British Columbia and the Federal Government as part of the $600 million National Border Infrastructure Fund.

Highway 15 is one of the primary trade corridors between Canada and the United States.

The Highway 15 corridor serves as a major north-south route in the Lower Mainland, connecting the Pacific Highway Border Crossing to the United States with two provincial east-west routes, Highway 10 and Highway 1 and providing access to Highways 99 and 91 via 8th Avenue. Highway 15 is the fourth busiest truck crossing in the lower mainland and the Province of British Columbia. The widening to four-lanes is intended to provide the capacity and operational efficiency that can best satisfy the travel demand and the economic viability of the corridor.
