Under John’s leadership, Focus Corporation has grown significantly in terms of size and expertise. In 1995, Focus employed 100 people who provided land surveying services to the oil and gas industry. By 2009, Focus employed approximately 1,100 people who delivered a range of civil, energy and environmental engineering, geomatics, planning and project management services to clients involved in oil and gas, oil sands, land development, transportation and municipal infrastructure projects throughout Western Canada.
